할렐루야!
2014년 12월 8일 4가정이 중심이 되어 12명의 성도가 가정에서 첫 주일 예배를 드리면서 샘물침례교회가 시작되었습니다. 시간이 빠르게 지나 벌써10주년 감사 예배를 드리는 것이 감격스럽습니다. 한 자리가 아닌 두 자리 숫자의 나이의 교회가 된 것이 기쁘기도 하지만, 이제는 어린아이가 아니고 맡겨진 책임을 더욱 잘감당해야 한다는 거룩한 부담으로 다가옵니다.
개척하면서부터 교회에 주신 비전이 “하나님 나라를 확장하는 건강하고 복된 교회가 되자”는 것이었습니다. 이를 이루기 위해 “예수님의 십자가를 자랑하고 세상을 변화시키 는 선교적 사역자가 되자”는 사명으로 달려왔습니다.
지난 10년의 사역을 정리해 보니 예배와 소그룹 성경공부 사역을 기본으로 하여 “한 영혼 초청잔치와 새가족 환영회”, “911 전도 운동”, “방문전도와 거리전도”, “캄보디아 선 교와 북한 선교”, “노숙자와 독거노인 사역”, “샘물한국학교”, “청소년 사역” 이 주를 이 루었습니다. 이를 뒷받침하는 “친교 교제 식사”는 눈에 잘 드러나지 않는 사역이었습니 다. 더욱이 코비드-19 상황에서도 신속하게 “영상/미디어” 사역과 “읽은 중보기도” 사 역으로 어려운 시간을 잘 지내온 것이 감사합니다.
이 모든 것이 우리의 수고와 노력 이전에 하나님의 은혜와 사랑과 능력으로 이루어진 것 을 믿고 모든 영광과 감사와 찬송을 하나님께서 올립니다. 부족하고 연약한 저희들을 부 르셔서 주님의 도구와 사랑의 통로로 사용해 주셔서 감사합니다. 이 일을 위해 함께 수고 하고 함께 하신 모든 성도님께도 감사의 말씀을 전합니다
앞으로 10년을 더욱 더 믿음 안에서 자라가며 열매를 맺어서 하나님을 기쁘시게 할 수 있기를 소망합니다. 20주년에는 청년의 모습으로 새로운 사역의 열매를 맺고, 성품적으 로 더욱 예수님을 닮을 수 있으리라 기대하고 기도하면서 우리 모두 함께 달려 가십시다.
BY THE POWER AND GRACE OF GOD
Praise God for Spring Fountain!
Over the past 10 years, I’ve witnessed God’s incredible faithfulness, power and grace to our church family. What began as a collection of a few households, has given birth to a English bible study that has grown to be a beautiful community of believers of various backgrounds and experiences.
When Spring Fountain Church first formed, I was still in a college and eager to get started in my seminary training. Little did I know that God would use this church plant to call me into pastoral ministry! I’ve truly experienced first-hand that the identity of a local church is a spiritual family - not an organization, but a organism that is made alive by Christ’s power and Spirit.
I am so grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow as a servant of God in Spring Fountain Church, and to have the precious relationships God has granted over the years. As we celebrate our 10th anniversary and give glory and praise to the Lord, I am reminded that the value of a local church is not based on how long it has existed, but about faithfulness and obedience to Christ. Ephesians 4:15-16 says that churches ought to “grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.”
I praise God that He has given us unity, faith, love, grace, hope and strength to grow in maturity for the past 10 years. As we look forward to what is ahead, let us fix our eyes on Christ, and may the Lord grant us deeper faith & confidence to rely on His Spirit and power. God, may Your will be done in and through us!
